Pretty Little Liars
Subgenre: Teen Drama, Mystery, Thriller

Pretty Little Liars is an American TV series based on the books by Sara Shepard.
Set in the fictitional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, the series follows the lives of Spencer Hastings, Hanna Marin, Aria Montgomery and Emily Fields, four girls whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their queen bee, Alison DiLaurentis. One year later, they begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure using the name "A" who threatens to expose their secrets. At first they think it's Alison herself, but after she is found dead, the girls realize that someone else knows their secrets—including long-hidden ones they thought only Alison knew. Here you can find a video showing on overview of Pretty Little Liars.

Title Screen

Pretty Little Liars: Season 2 Episode 22 - This episode shows the four girls at their annual father daughter dance hosted by their school Rosewood High. The episode focus' on the parents involvement through 'A', for the first time the parents are directly targeted by 'A' and are starting to get more and more suspicious of the girls and their secrets. The episode named "Father Knows Best" is brilliantly directed and gets the audience very involved and constantly wanting more.
I focused on two main characters throughout the episode:
Spencer Hastings
In this episode Spencer is represented as hardworking and smart, she is constantly on the ball and trying to figure out everything she doesn't fully understand. She comes across and confident and understanding but begins to show strain in this episode when she realizes she can't even fully trust her family.

Aria Montgomery
In this episode Aria is represented as someone who fights for what she cares and loves for, she is confident and able to stand up for what she believes in even if it means going against the opinions of people she truly cares about. She is named 'best at hiding the truth from loved ones' during this episode. Aria comes across and mature and insightful.
